2010 has seen DJ Blend firmly secure a place on the Cyprus Urban Scene, and is seen as one of the Hottest Club Djs in the country.
His Unique style of Djing sees him mix, cut and drop the Biggest urban tracks old, new and everything in between. His style is complimented by his mic use and the ability to drop his own Exclusive tracks and never before heard Remixes making every club appearance different & unforgettable!
Based in Cyprus club appearances have seen Blend play at every respectable club on the island. This year alone has seen Blend entertain thousands of clubbers in Nicosia, Limassol, Ayia Napa & even breaking into the plush Larnaca clubbing scene. Events at Club Teez & Club Bling in previous years has given DJ Blend a tight following as people wait to see what new sounds and tracks he has on offer! 2009 saw Blend take 3 trips to Beirut, Lebanon hosting nights at the prestigious I-Bar, and supporting Hip Hop Artist & Grammy award Winner Fatman Scoop at the Hip Hop Summer Beach Fest at The Oceana Beach Resort. Back in Cyprus 2009, Blend supported the biggest Uk Funky Act “The Crazy Cousinz” in Larnaca, Cyprus at the C.T.O Beach Bash, and 2009’s breakthrough Dancehall Artist “Million Stylez” at Club Teez in Nicosia. Supporting roles in 2010 so far has seen Blend support this year’s breakthrough Dancehall Artist “Serani” performing a 1 hour show @ Club Ice in Cyprus’ Clubbing resort Ayia Napa. Travelling to Limassol for the Cyprus Break dancing competition Finals led Blend to support Cyprus’s hottest Hip Hop Artist Lyrical Eye. Throughout the summer Blend attracts 1000’s of clubbers every week to the country’s biggest club, The Castle Club in Ayia Napa playing out his events “Flaunt”, Stiletto” & “Swagger” Every Monday, Wednesday & Saturday. Back in 2008, this was one of the busiest years yet in Blends career as he took his first steps to Beirut, Lebanon and Dundee in Scotland. Blends trip to Beirut took him to three separate shows as he hosted a pre-club show on Radio 1 Lebanon, played the main event of his trip at Club Sociale and also the after-party event at the prestigious Club Scenario. Scotland saw Blend play a night alongside Dundee’s hottest urban dj, DJ Zed at London Nightclub as he presented a night packed with his own exclusive tracks.
Blends career spanning 8 years has seen him work with and alongside the hottest names in the UK and European industry including G Child (1Xtra BBC/ Def Jam UK), Ras Kwame (Radio 1/ 1xtra BBC) Fatman Scoop (Grammy Award Winner, Be Faithful), Crazy Cousinz (The Funky Anthem, Bongo Jam) Million Stylez (Miss Fatty) Serani (No Games) Lyrical Eye (It’s Official, Boss)
Blends “stage name” comes from the djing term when you mix or “blend” two records together. His smooth mixing skills and transition illustrates fine attention to detail, as can be seen in Blends vast catalogue of remixes and refixes for his club sets as well as receiving airplay on 1Xtra BBC, SweetUK FM London & LGR (London Greek Radio)!
As well as having a fairly successful Dj career, DJ Blend aka James Poole also runs his own Personal Training Business “Cyprus Beach Fitness” throughout the year on the beaches and in the gyms around Cyprus!
