DJ Zed
Dj Zed is the newest addition to join the team at the internationally acclaimed “CASTLE CLUB”, situated in the Mediterranean hot spot of Ayia Napa. But he is by no way in the least a newcomer to the music scene.
It was back in 1996 when he first took to the “decks” in his native Scotland, djing as part of a consortium of dj’s called CRASH. Over the next 4 years they were residents at the Purple Rooms and marketing agents for B.O.M.B nightclub in their hometown of Dundee. This seen him dj alongside some of the old heavyweights of the era such as Anthony Pappa, Darren Stokes, Dj Heaven………and even Nigel Benn. Such was their success that they were asked to perform at the most prestigious Music festival in Europe, “T in the Park”, that has an attendance of more than a 100,000 revellers over the weekend.
In 2000, his career excelled to a national level, playing from Inverness to Manchester. He also ran his own radio shows on Vertigo fm, which had a national base of 200,000 listeners. This led to his signing to Phenomena promotions, and also the emergence “Presha…….the urban groove”. This took him to the capital supporting dj’s such as Westwood, Dodge, Hanif and Bobby Friction, and also live acts such as Jay Sean, Raghav, Lisa Maffia and multi MOBO award winner Panjabi MC, becoming his official support dj in Scotland. This led to his first international event showcase in St Pierre de Couer, France.
Dj Zed returned to his hometown of Dundee in 2003, landing a residency at Scotlands biggest multi arena superclub, LONDON Nightclub, and also the biggest clubnight in Scotland, GLAM. Such was his success that he was supporting both urban and mainstream dj’s such as Trevor Nelson, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Fergie and The Shy Brother to name but a few.
2006 seen the mighty Radio 1 bring their “Radio 1 Big Weekend” festival to Dundee. The line-up was monsterous but Dj Zed, due to his versatility, was the only dj to play on both days of the event.
Since arriving in Cyprus in 2006, he has a string of events knotched to his belt, playing out in both Nicosia and Limassol. He also invades Nissi Beach twice a week, (Mondays & Wednesdays) and you can catch him in Black Hawk Scandanavian Bar, and also the very sexy GURU once a week.
